Looking for a 3700 or 3800 and I'm just really wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect at the Westbury NY location in terms of line protocol, recommended arrival time, and typical shipment amount. In case it's important, I'm looking for a 3700 or 3800, I'd be THRILLED with either. Does this 2nd unofficial discord really have stock info? I'll wait in line but id like to know if it's worth it or not. Lastly, my friend had been invited to some "unofficial-nonofficial micro center discord" but apparently no longer has access for some reason. I'm also able to go to Brooklyn, Queens, Jersey, or Yonkers if those locations are any easier to obtain a card. I also read about some places having "check-ins", what exactly is this? I'm just really wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect at the Westbury NY location in terms of line protocol, recommended arrival time, and typical shipment amount. Waiting in line for a full day on top of zero promise of ANY Nvidia cards even arriving is a bit hard to stomach, especially in this current heatwave.ĭoes anyone have any recent experience at the Westbury NY location? How does the line work? I've heard people show up to put down a chair and they add their names to a list, they apparently then wait in their cars while some even leave and come back when the store opens, is this true? Are people really leaving and coming back to score a card? This seems incredibly unfair, unless this is the agreed protocol and everything is partaking, I have no patience for line cutters. Is this common or was he extremely lucky? The guys in the store told me people are lining up at noon the day before shipments, that's about 22+ hours in line. My friend went to the Westbury NY location and scored a 3070 on his first try after showing up at 6am on the day of. I have heard all the different stores have different line protocols. I now have my 2070 back in my PC with Nvidia drivers reinstalled but I need to plan for the impending complete failure of my RTX-2070. No display detected and that after following all proper steps, ran DDU in safe mode yadda-yadda blah-blah. Sadly this card happened to faulty and is totally useless. I figured id buy it since I didn't have any other options on the horizon. I really have no interest in AMD cards but options are slim pickings as we all know and this card was discounted down to $710 as an open-box item. They had just received a 6700-XT from the manufacturer after it underwent a "return-quarantine". I went to Micro center for a TV about a week or two ago and I figured id check-in with the PC-Build section. The last thing I want is to be without any GPU for weeks/months while I desperately look for a replacement. I was hoping to use this card until GPU stock gets back on track but that's clearly not happening any time soon and I figure I might as well do it now while my warranty is still active instead of waiting for a complete failure of the card as ill be screwed. My warranty expires mid-July and my card is showing more and more age/artifacts/etc. So both my RTX-2070 and the coinciding 2-year extended warranty are on the way out. TLDR is below and pretty much all that's necessary, but feel free to read the full story. First, sorry for the extended post, it got away from me.
